Elyssa A. Griffin, of Sharon, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016, from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.
She was 15.
Elyssa was born August 8, 2000, in Sharon, a daughter of Jonathan Richardson and Monica Ann Griffin.
She attended Case Avenue Elementary Grade School and recently completed her freshman year at Sharon High School.
A standout athlete, Elyssa has been playing soccer for the past ten years and also participated in softball and basketball.
She was a member of the Sharon High School varsity soccer team and lettered as a freshman.
She also participated in the Shenango Valley youth soccer program.
She loved going to church and was a member of the Sharon Alliance Church where she assisted the teachers with
Sunday
School and Vacation Bible School.
Elyssa was extremely close with her cousins and cherished the time they spent together.
She also enjoyed spending time with her father, grandparents, friends and her Godfather and uncle, Brandon Richardson.
She loved taking pictures.
Surviving are: her father, Jonathan Richardson, Sharon; Grandparents, Harmy and Judy Griffin, Sharon, and Diane Richardson, Farrell; special cousins who were like siblings, Ian, Mia and Mae Fischer; and Brayden Richardson; aunts and uncles, Melissa and Justin Fischer, Sharon; Brandon and Kelly Richardson, Farrell; Staton Morgan, Virginia; and Lakeshia Richardson, Seattle, Washington; her mother's boyfriend, Terence "Eddie" Metz, Sharon; and a half sister, Bailey Jackson, Grove City, Ohio.
Elyssa's mother died of injuries sustained in this tragic accident, two days after her.
Elyssa was preceded in death by an uncle, Gene Cameron Griffin.
