Elsie Colclaser, Shady Ave., Sharon, passed away peacefully at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday (11-20-08) in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Farrell of natural causes. She was 85.
She was born in London, England, on Monday, February 26, 1923 the daughter of George and Emma Andrews Rogers.
A homemaker she was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.
In her younger years, she enjoyed volunteering at the F. H. Buhl Club, Sharon.
Her husband Francis G. Colclaser who she married in March of 1945, he passed away on October 13, 1975.
A war bride, she met her husband in England during WWII were she had been part of the war effort by assisting the allied troops in the manufacturing of detonators for allied torpedoes.
She leaves her 2 daughters, Brenda Sirb and her husband Daniel, Bethlehem Pa., Joan Colclaser, Sharon, a son, Jeffrey G. Colclaser and his wife Carol of Falls Church, VA, a sister, Patricia Morton and her husband Richard, Hermitage, two granddaughters, Stephanie and Allyssa Sirb.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, and two brothers.
Calling hours: 12:00 noon until time of service Sunday (11-23-08) in St. Rose Cemetery chapel, Dutch Lane, Hermitage.
Services: 12:30 p.m. Sunday (11-23-08) in St. Rose Cemetery chapel with Msgr. Salvatore P. Mitchell, retired priest officiating.
Interment: St. Rose Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
