Elsie J. Klamer Clark, 88, of New Castle passed away on Wednesday morning, April 15, 2015, in the Jameson Care Center. Elsie was born Dec. 18, 1926, in Cumberland, Md., a daughter of Frederick J. and Josephine Brant Twigg. She was a 1945 graduate of Union High School. She was a licensed broker and real estate agent and retired in 1992 from Cambridge Real Estate. She also had worked for McBurney Real Estate for a number of years. At one time she also worked for Bessemer Cement Co. in the accounting department. Elsie was a member of St. Anthony Church, Christ the King Parish. She also was a member of the Bessemer Senior Citizens Group and its bridge group and 500 Club. In addition to playing cards, Elsie enjoyed gardening. Her husband, John J. Klamer, whom she married Nov. 27, 1948, passed away May 7, 1992. Her second husband, Harold E. Clark, whom she married June 14, 2002, passed away on May 31, 2014. Survivors include three daughters, Dorothy A. Gwin and her husband, Harold, of Sharon; Joanne L. Myers, New Castle, and Helen J. Preisel and her husband, Charles of Mount Jackson; three sons, Paul R. Klamer of Mount Jackson, Michael J. Klamer and his wife, Shirley, of Mount Jackson and J. Edward Klamer and his wife, Lisa, of Hillsville; one sister, Patricia B. Bowers and her husband, Kenneth, of Harrisburg; one brother, William N. Twigg and his wife, Jean, of Wormleysburg, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Denise, and her husband, Dr. Thomas McGrath, of Brentwood, Calif., a stepson, Harold E. Clark Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of New Castle; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her two husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, James Twigg, and a sister, Marion Kinsey. Calling hours are 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle. A blessing service will be conducted at 3 p.m. by the Rev. James A. Downs of Christ the King Parish. Burial will be in Mount Jackson Cemetery.
