Elizabeth 'Betty' L. Williams, formerly of Flowers Avenue, Sharon. She passed away in the loving care of her daughter, Faye Sabella, Sunday evening (5-8-11) in California City after a brief illness. She was 92.
Mrs. Williams was born Feb. 28, 1919, in Sharpsville, a daughter of Martin and Gertrude Klinges Witzigman.
She retired in 1984 from Sharon City School District after 24 years of dedicated service.
Mrs. Williams was a member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. Betty was an avid bingo player, enjoyed golf in retirement and loved gardening and baking. She and her husband were members of the Bailando Dance Club for years and volunteered for more than 10 years at the former St. Joseph bingo, prior to moving to California.
Her husband, Delbert E. Williams, whom she married July 6, 1939, passed away Jan. 13, 1989.
Surviving are: her daughter, Sondra Faye Sabella and her husband John, California City; a son, Edward W. Williams, Palm Desert, Calif.; three brothers, Robert 'Buck' Witzigman and his wife Delores, Hermitage; Charles 'Jim' Witzigman and his wife Norma, Jefferson City, Mo.; and James Witzigman and his wife Barbara, Sparta, Tenn.; a sister, Maryellen McCracken, Marienville; a daughter-in-law, Rita Dempsey Williams, Sharon; and a sister-in-law, Eve Witzigman, Hermitage. She also leaves three granddaughters, Therese Stidd, Fayetteville, Ohio; Colleen Rohrbacher and her husband Timothy, Richmond, Va.; and Tiffany Langwell and her husband Chuck, Indio, Calif., and their children, Charlie and Cole; four grandsons, Douglas Marmon, Palm Desert, and his children, Rodney, Nicki and Colton; Mark Williams and his wife Maricarmen, Columbus, Ohio, and their children, Ayden and Carson; Simon Williams and his wife Andrea, Indio, and their children Melody, Matt and Elizabeth; and Nathan Willi!

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by a son, Delbert 'Jerry' E. Williams Jr.; three sisters, Kate Meckler, Bonne Sabella and Eleanor Dunn; and two brothers, Frederick Witzigman and Richard Walsh.
Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday May 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Rose Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor of St. Joseph's Church.
