Elizabeth J. Sverchek

Elizabeth J. Sverchek, 92, of Hermitage, died peacefully with loved ones at her side on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, after a brief illness.

Born Oct 7, 1933, in Sharon, she was the daughter of John and Mary Sverchek.

Elizabeth spent her entire working career at Westinghouse Electric Corporation's local division, retiring as an executive secretary.

A 1951 graduate of Sharon High School, she was a lifelong area resident and member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage.

Elizabeth was a kind and generous sister and aunt, who was beloved by her family. In her younger years, she was an avid reader who loved puzzles and could often be found working in her garden.

She followed NFL football and rooted for her favorite team, the Cleveland Browns.

She is survived by her niece, Betsy Carroll, and nephews Eric and Edward Schenker and Matthew Sverchek, and the following great-nieces and nephews: John Sverchek, David Sverchek, Melissa Hans, Matthew Carroll, Nadine and Martin Schenker, and Erica and Mark Schenker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Anne Sverchek and Mary Schenker, and three brothers, Edward, John, and Matthew Sverchek, and four nephews, Eugene, Alan, Christian Sverchek, and Martin Schenker.

At Elizabeth's request, there will be no public calling hours. A private graveside service will be held at the family's convenience.
