Obituary

Elizabeth W. 'Betty' Silverman, 750 Koonce Road, Hermitage, Pa. passed away unexpectedly early Friday morning at her residence. She was 85.

She was born April 9, 1924 in Sharon the daughter of Frederick and Hazel Robinson Wiener.

Betty was a 1942 graduate of the Sharon High School and she was instrumental in many of her class reunions over the years.

A homemaker, she was active in her community and served on several boards through the years including the Mercer County Crippled Children's Association and the Julia F. Buhl Girls Club. Some of her memberships included the Order of the Eastern Star, Sharon Country Club, and she was a past officer and volunteer for the Friends of the Library.

She also enjoyed volunteering locally in past years for the Meals on Wheels program and made delicious cakes as desert.

Betty will be remembered for her wonderful smile and remarkable personality; she will be sadly missed by all her girlfriends in the 'Sewing Club'.

She enjoyed sewing and she was a very talented cross stitcher and her work adorned her home.

Her husband, Robert B. Silverman whom she married on December 17, 1949, survives at the residence.

She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

Betty's family suggest that memorial contributions be donated to the Community Library of the Shenango Valley 11 N. Sharpsville Ave. Sharon, Pa. 16146

Funeral service: Monday at 12:00 noon in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home Inc.
