Elizabeth A. "Betty" "Beanie" Powell, 83, of Masury, OH, passed away Thursday evening, August 21, 2025, in her home.

Mrs. Powell was born on July 5, 1942, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Eugene and Helen (Walsh) Rodgers. A lifelong area resident, she was a 1960 graduate of Sharon High School.

Betty began working at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Later, she worked in the bakery and deli of Mr. D's Food Fair, Brookfield, where she was affectionately known as "Bakery Betty." More recently, she was employed by Daffin's Candies in Sharon.

Betty was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell.

A social butterfly, she enjoyed conversing with anyone and everyone, especially her church family and her neighbors, while relaxing on her porch. Betty also looked forward to having lunch dates with her fellow "Daffin's Ladies." Additionally, she took great pride in her home and meticulously maintained it throughout her life.

Her husband, Russell Powell, whom she married on September 26, 1964, passed away on June 13, 2015.

She is survived by a daughter, Susan "Sue" Hahne and her husband, Dale, of Masury; a son, Michael Powell and his wife, Lisa, of Buckeye Lake, OH; and four grandchildren, Christopher Hahne and his wife, Jessica, Jacob Powell, Courtney Marshall and her husband, Troy, and Abigail Dommer. Also surviving are a sister, Sue Holt and her husband, Rich, of Hermitage; two brothers, Michael Rodgers and his wife, Sue, and Louie Rodgers, all of Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday (08/25/2025) in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, with Rev. Glenn Whitman, pastor as celebrant.
