Elizabeth A. Nygren of Hermitage passed away at 7:41 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017, in the emergency room at Sharon Regional Health System. She was 97.
Mrs. Nygren was born on April 30, 1920, in Chalfant, PA, a daughter of John and Mary (Mickel) Sember. She was a 1939 graduate of Sharon High School, and attended Shenango Valley School of Business. Elizabeth was a homemaker and earlier in her life she worked in the offices at Sharon Steel, the former Farrell plant, the former Willson's Furniture Store, Sharon and Pan American Airlines.
She was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. She enjoyed playing bridge, cooking, traveling and selling Avon, which she did for ten years. .
Her husband, Raymond T. Nygren Sr., whom she married September 29, 1951, passed away June 18, 2015.
She is survived by two daughters, Marcia L. Kozuch, Fredericksburg, VA; and Kathleen Dudragne and her husband Philippe, Gatlinburg, TN; one son, Raymond T. Nygren Jr., Citrus Heights, CA; one sister, Virginia Clark, Dallas, TX; and two grandchildren, David Dudragne and Frank Kozuch, III.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a sister Mary Jane Snyder; and a brother, John Sember.
There will be no calling hours.
Mass of Christian burial was private in the Chapel of St. Rose Cemetery, with Rev. Richard Allen, pastor of Church of the Notre Dame, as celebrant.
