Obituary

Elizabeth "Betty" A. Necastro, a former longtime resident of Spencer Ave., Sharon, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2016, in UPMC Horizon Hospital, Greenville. She was 90.

Mrs. Necastro was born March 13, 1926, in Jennerstown, PA, a daughter of Joseph and Helen Bibinco Pisarcik.

She was a 1944 graduate of Rossiter (PA) High School and worked as a waitress in Punxsutawney following her graduation.

Shortly thereafter, Betty moved to Detroit where she worked sewing parachutes for the war effort and often reminded her future husband, who was a B17 bomber in the Army Air Force, that she was doing an exceptional job in case he needed one.

She later moved to Erie, PA where she continued helping with the war efforts by making gun barrels for army tanks and bazookas. Following World War II, she moved to DuBois, PA and was employed by Titleist making golf balls.

Betty married Harry C. Necastro on September 28, 1946 and moved to Sharon following her marriage.

She was a stay at home mother for her six children until the untimely death of her husband on July 27, 1962.

She re-entered the work force and was employed in the cafeteria at the former St. Joseph Parochial Grade School, Sharon.

She later worked for Howell Industries, Masury; the former Sharon General Hospital; Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.; and lastly, her tenth job from which she retired, Packard Electric in Warren, Ohio.

Betty was an active member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.

Surviving are: two daughters, Elizabeth Jordan and her companion John Headley, Brookfield, Ohio; and Cecelia Richey and her husband Clark, Transfer, PA; four sons, Harry C. Necastro and his companion Carol Palombi, Sharpsville; Joseph A. Necastro and his wife JoEllen, Orlando, FL; Anthony F. Necastro and his wife Adele "Dolly," Shenango Twp.; and Gerard M. Necastro and his wife Carrie, Brookfield, Ohio; eleven grandchildren whom she adored, Todd Jordan and his wife Jody; Brad Jordan and his wife Manal; Neal Necastro and his wife Rachel; Leslie Nelson and her husband Steve; Brian Necastro, Corrie Necastro, Angela Meechin and her husband Mike; Kate Sullivan and her husband Frank; Sarah Allen; Mariam Necastro; and Augustus Necastro; and 10 great grandchildren, Jack and Kennedy Meechin; Kilian Sullivan; Matthew, Noah, Anthony, Zachary and Brady Jordan; and Olivia and Jacob Necastro. She also leaves three sisters, Dorothy Hanley and her husband Pat, Punxsutawney, PA; Helen Koczwara, Meadville, PA; and Josephine Miller and her husband Roland, Cleveland, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Lucky.

Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Pisarcik, Margaret Rypczyk and Sophie Grazulis; two brothers, Joseph and Paul Pisarcik; and two daughters-in-law, Debby Necastro and Nicky Necastro.

Betty focused on her family and friends and was always available in their time of need. She will long be remembered for her kindness and giving nature.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Nicky Necastro Children's Cancer Memorial Fund, c/o Akron Children's Hospital, 6505 Market St., Building C, Boardman, Ohio 44512.

Calling hours will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016 , in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with the Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, former pastor, and Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor, as con-celebrants.

Interment: St. Mary's Cemetery, Hermitage.
