Elizabeth M. 'Betty' McMahon, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, PA died at 12:50 a.m. Sunday, April 1, 2012, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 88.
Miss McMahon was born March 6, 1924 in Sharon a daughter of James O. and Beatrice E. Cox McMahon.
She was a 1942 graduate of Sharon High School and attended Slippery Rock University.
Betty was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. She served as a lecturer and Eucharistic Minister and did a lot of volunteer work at John XXIII Home, Hermitage.
She retired December 1, 1983 from Bell Telephone Company with 40 years of service. She worked in the traffic department at Bell Telephone Company of Sharon for 34 years and when the local office was closed in 1977, she was transferred to the Ohio Bell Telephone Company in Youngstown, Ohio, where she was employed for six years. Betty was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Frontier Council and John XXIII Home Auxiliary.
She is survived by friends and cousins.

Mass of Christian burial will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2012, in the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, with Msgr. John B. Hagerty as celebrant.
