A funeral service will be held Thursday for Elizabeth M. 'Betty' McLeod Metelsky who passed away peacefully at 1:30 p.m. Monday (12/20/10) at her residence. She was 82.

She was born in Sharon, PA on June 2, 1928. She was the daughter of Joseph and Theresa Mirage Koch. She graduated from Sharon High School in 1946. In her early years she worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation. She also worked for several local area restaurants and taverns over the years.

Some of her interests included playing bingo, picking her lucky lottery numbers, doing crossword puzzles, watching old movies and collecting teddy bears. A sports fan, she rooted for all the Philadelphia sport teams and was a fan of the University of North Carolina Tarheels and the Duke Blue Devils.

A christian, she was raised in the Catholic faith.

Her first husband, James W. McLeod, Jr., whom she married April 6, 1953, passed away October 25, 1974. Her second husband, Edward Metelsky, whom she married on August 18, 1983, passed away December 15, 1995.

She is survived by her five children, Carol Vinkler and her husband Ed, New Middletown, OH, James McLeod and his wife Pam, Ashtabula, OH, Kathy Swogger and her husband Dennis, Sharon, PA, David McLeod and his wife Mary Jo, Ardmore, OK, and Valerie Moss, Masury, OH; 10 grandchildren, Craig Barger and his wife Brittany, Streetsboro, OH, and Elizabeth Schmid and her husband Roger, Norton, OH, Brian McLeod and his wife Kristy, Dover, DE, Michael and Christina Bochert both Sharon, PA, Nicholas, Anna Jo, Ian-James, Alex, and Cullen McLeod all of Ardmore, OK; a great grandson, Liam Schmid, Norton, OH, and four step-grandchildren and 8 step great grandchildren, and her sister in law Pauline Koch, Hermitage. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Sharon Regional Hospice and Palliative Care 2320 Highland Road Hermitage Pa. 16146

In addition to her two husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Catherine Pollock, Mary Tomczak, Dolores Serb and Eileen Grande and five brothers, Walter, Edward, Joseph, Frank and Robert Koch and recently by a son-in-law, Jerry Moss.
