Obituary

Elizabeth C. Listopad, formerly of West Middlesex, passed away Friday morning, November 23, 2018, in Hospitality Care Center, Hermitage, after an extended illness.  She was 80.

Mrs. Listopad was born March 30, 1938, in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Sintic) Markusic.  She was a graduate of Chaney High School and attended Youngstown State University.  Years earlier, she was employed at Bank One in Youngstown.

Her husband of 40 years, Paul A. Listopad, whom she married October 28, 1967, passed away September 29, 2008.

A homemaker, Elizabeth was an active member of Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, and its Altar and Rosary Society.  She also served as a Eucharistic minister and as a Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) instructor and sang in the church choir.

Elizabeth enjoyed flower gardening, watching and identifying birds, her family pets throughout the years and, most recently, making crafts.  She was also an avid reader and enjoyed doing word search puzzles.  She was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union (CFU); volunteered as a Girl Scout troop leader; and participated in league play at the former Hickory Bowl in Hermitage.

She is survived by a son, Michael A. Listopad and his wife Rebecca, of West Middlesex; a grandson, Ian Smith, also of West Middlesex; a brother, Michael Markusic and his wife Rose Ann, of Summerfield, FL; a brother- and sister-in-law, Dr. Aaron J. Listopad and his wife Paula, of Sharon; and two nieces, two nephews and several cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her father- and mother-in-law, Anthony and Jean Listopad.

Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2018, in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2018, in Church of the Good Shepherd, West Middlesex, with Rev. Glenn R. Whitman, pastor, as celebrant.

Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery mausoleum, Hermitage.
