Elizabeth Anne (Vigne) Goodge, 79, of 671 Marr Rd., Pulaski, PA passed away at 3:42 a.m. Monday (10-18-10) in her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Goodge was born September 28, 1931 in Neville Island, PA a daughter of the late Charles Joseph and Susan Jeanette Grabans Vigne.
She was a 1949 alumna of Union High School where she was the editor of its Utopian newspaper. A superb homemaker, Betty, as she was known, was an exceptional baker and seamstress.
She was a devout catholic and a longtime member of St. James the Apostle Parish in New Bedford, PA where she was a Catechist and a member of the Christian Women's Organization.
Betty enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening, SCRABBLE and was a member of numerous bowling leagues and card clubs. Betty worked hard throughout her life and was dedicated to her undertakings. She was a 4-H Leader and active with the Wilmington High School Athletics Boosters Club, having served as past president. She was passionate about her family, particularly her children and grandchildren, and will be remembered for her genuine and sincere ways.
A devoted and loving wife, she is survived by her husband, James Lloyd Goodge, Jr., whom she married May 12, 1951 in St. Mary's Church, New Castle.
She also leaves four daughters, Anne Louise Goodge, Jacksonville, FL; Janet Susan Goodge-Crespi and her husband Bernie, Edinburg, PA; Julia Marie Goodge, New Bedford, PA; and Laura Lee Goodge-Yantes and her husband Peter, Jacksonville, FL; four sons, Dr. James Lloyd Goodge, III and his wife Genevieve, McDonald, PA; Joseph Charles Goodge and his wife Zenia, Pulaski, PA; Thomas Ross Goodge and his wife Judy, Greensburg, PA; and Richard Paul Goodge, Carnegie, PA; 22 grandchildren, James, Esther, Meredith, Johanna and Theresa Goodge; Adam, Matthew and Andrew Robison; Samuel and Marcia Goodge; Thomas, Cortlynn, Zachary and Lucille Goodge; Frances and Charles Crespi; Paul, Luke, Emily and Jonathan Yohman; and Danya and Maxim Yantes; five great grandchildren (and one on the way), Lars, Clara Rose, Molly, Anne Marie and Natalynn; three brothers, Thomas D. Vigne and his wife Cindi, Carlsbad, CA; J. Paul Vigne, Prescott, AZ; and James M. Vigne, New Castle; several nieces and nephews; !
and a son-in-law, Donald Robison, Hermitage, PA.
Besides her parents, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Elizabeth Goodge Robison who died October 4, 1994; and a brother, Charles J. Vigne.
