Elizabeth “Cookie” Davis, 85, of Hermitage, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Clepper Manor, Sharon.

Mrs. Davis was born on November 10, 1940, in Farrell, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lucille (Zappa) Gross. A lifelong area resident, Elizabeth was a 1958 graduate of Farrell High School, and prior to marriage, she attended nursing school.

On April 25, 1964, she married Paul Gerald Davis. Throughout their marriage, they traveled many times to Las Vegas. He passed away on May 15, 2007.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church, Sharpsville.

An avid bowler for more than 50 years, she bowled in leagues and tournaments. Later, she liked to play cards, especially Euchre.

Elizabeth was extremely family-oriented, attending all of her grandchildren’s events and hosting Sunday dinnerwith homemade pasta and sauce. She also liked to plant a vegetable garden.

She is survived by four children, Brian Davis (Ruth), of Hermitage, Mark Davis, of Smithfield, VA, Brenda Janes (Rob), of Columbus, OH, and Christopher Davis (Brandy), of Hermitage; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and Ben “Dick” Gross.

Calling hours will be 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday (04/26/2026) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon. 

Mass of Christian burial will be at 12 p.m. noon on Monday (04/27/2026) in St. Bartholomew’s Church, 311 West Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, PA 16150, with Rev. John Miller, pastor as celebrant.

Interment: St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
