Eleanor "Nora" Grace Gallagher Baldoff passed away peacefully of natural causes at 4:23 a.m. Saturday (10-25-14) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage. She was 92. Mrs. Baldoff was born Sept. 14, 1922, in Sharpsburg, Pa., one of 12 children of Albert and Anna Guentner Gallagher. Nora retired from the former General American Transportation Corp.'s Masury plant, where she worked for 10 years in both the accounting department and as a switchboard operator. Previously she had worked the switchboard at J.C. Penney Co. in the Shenango Valley Mall, Hermitage. An active member of Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage, she recited the rosary on Wednesday nights and belonged to the church's over 55 group. A volunteer, she gave much of her time to both Shenango Valley Meals on Wheels, based in Christ Lutheran Church, Sharon, and at the Prince of Peace Center, Farrell. Her husband Charles W. Baldoff Sr., whom she married in San Francisco on March 10, 1945, passed away Oct. 16, 2004. She is survived by: her two sons, Charles W. Baldoff Jr. and his wife Mary Lou, and Michael "Mickey" Gallagher Baldoff and his wife Marcia, all of Hermitage; a sister, Mary Readal; two special nieces, Nora Grace Dougherty and Pat Stirling; and several other special nieces and nephews.
