Obituary

Eleanor D. Saunders, formerly a 50 year resident of Boyd Dr., Hermitage, PA, passed away unexpectedly, however very peacefully, at 8:05 p.m. Tuesday (7-21-09) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage, where she was a resident since May of 2008. She was 91.
Eleanor was born April 6, 1918 in Farrell, PA a daughter of the late Adam and Stephanie Panuszko Dyll.
A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of St. Adalbert's Parochial Grade School and attended Farrell High School.
Eleanor was a expeditor and group leader at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation where she retired in 1983 with 44 years of service.
She was a lifelong member of St. Adalbert's Church in Farrell and a member of its Altar and Rosary Society; and the Infant Prague of Jesus Society. Eleanor was a member of the Westinghouse Retirees Ass'n. and the IUE # 617. She was a volunteer with the ladies auxiliary at the former Shenango Valley Osteopathic Hospital, Farrell, and later with the ladies auxiliary at Sharon Regional Health System for a combined twenty five years.
Her husband, Marcus W. 'Mickey' Saunders, whom she married May 31, 1941, passed away December 15, 1989. Together they enjoyed traveling around the world.
Surviving are: two sisters, Lillian Fabrey, wife of the late Henry Fabrey, Sharpsville; and Joan Beader and her husband Edward, Hermitage; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews who affectionately called her Aunt Nonie; and three sisters-in-law, Victoria 'Vicky' Dyll, Mercer; Ruth Dyll, Sharpsville; and Dorothy Dyll, Greenville.
Besides her parents and husband, Eleanor was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Alfred, Eugene, Alex and Edward.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Calling hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday (7-24-09) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday (7-25-09) in St. Adalbert's Church, Farrell, with the Rev. Daniel Kresinski, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, Hermitage.
