Eleanor Horvath-Shanley Moore, Clarksville Rd., Hermitage, formerly of Sharon and Sharpsville, passed away at 9:24 am, April 02, 2016, Sharon Regional Hospital. She was 97.
Mrs. Moore was born September 18, 1918, in Sharon, the daughter of Matthew Horvath and Katherine Schweighardt Shanley.
She attended Sharon Schools with the Class of 1936.
She enjoyed bowling and belonged to various bowling leagues over the years. Eleanor was skilled in needlework and many crafts. She also loved playing cards with her friends, reading and doing crossword puzzles.
A homemaker, she was an active member of the former Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, Farrell.
Her husband, John Anderson Moore, whom she married April 12, 1938, passed away on April 05, 1984.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia A. Grisdale and her husband G. William, Madison, OH. and Mary E. Bell and her husband Jesse, Willowick, OH; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Epp, Lori Salance, Donald Morford, Jr., and his wife Cindy, Duane Morford, Michelle Kreeger, Shaun Bell and his wife Carrie, a granddaughter-in-law Teresa Lyden; eleven great-grandchildren, Wyatt Epp, Meghan, Katherine and Kyle Lyden, Autumn Lichwa and her husband Daniel, Austin Morford, Lorand Salance, Isabella, Charlotte and Gillian Kreeger and Sebastian Bell, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Bonita L. Barker; two grandsons, John L Morford and Jeffrey E. Lyden; two son-in-laws, F. Eugene Lyden and Lloyd L. Barker; three Shanley brothers and their spouses, Frederick (Charlotte), Stephen (Ella) and Joseph (Anna); five Shanley sisters and their spouses, Mari, Elizabeth (Frank) Rakaczky, Mary (Thomas) Steiner, Catherine (John) Gunsley and Cornelia (Michael) Antos; and one Horvath sister, Mary; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stanislaus Holy Trinity Church 370 Spruce Ave, Sharon 16146, or to a charity of your choice.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Monday (4-11-16) in St. Stanislaus Holy Trinity Church 370 Spruce Ave, Sharon.
Arrangements are by the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon.
