Eleanor E. Krueger, 94, of New Castle passed away the morning of March 25, 2023, in The Haven Convalescent Home.

Mrs. Krueger was born October 1, 1928 in New Castle, a daughter of John and Anna (Cizaukis) Wilkevich. A lifelong area resident, she attended St. Joseph's Parochial School and was a 1946 graduate of New Castle High School.

She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle - St. Camillus Site, where she was involved with the bereavement group. Eleanor was previously a member of St. Mary's Church, and the St. Vincent DePaul Society. She also actively volunteered with the former Jameson Memorial Hospice.

Her husband, Louis C. Krueger, Jr., whom she married June 12, 1948, passed away May 5, 2004.

Eleanor is survived by a very special nephew, whom she raised and was like a son, Joseph R. Wilkevich, Monroeville, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul Anthony Krueger, whom passed away in 1995 from complications with AIDS; a sister, Anna Wilkevich; and two brothers, William Wilkevich, and Joseph R. Wilkevich, whom passed away while serving with the United States military in Normandy during World War II.

Calling hours will be 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday (3/31/23) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.

Mass of Christian burial will be at noon Friday (3/31/23) in Holy Spirit Parish of New Castle - St. Camillus Site, 314 W. Englewood Ave., New Castle, with the Very Rev. Philip N. Farrell, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Joseph's Cemetery, New Castle.
