Obituary

Eleanor Marie Nicastro Julian, Brookfield, OH passed away peacefully at 10:00 a.m. Friday (1-20-12) at her residence with her family at her side. She was 79.

Mrs. Julian was born August 17, 1932 in Farrell the daughter of Lorenzo and Theresa Covino Necastro. She was a 1950 graduate of Farrell High School where she was the class salutatorian. She attended Slippery Rock University and later graduated from Penn State University where she earned her B.S. in Education and was a member of Theta Phi Alpha sorority. She earned her Masters in Education from Westminster College, New Wilmington.

She retired from West Middlesex Schools where she taught English in the junior high and high school for 28 years. Early in her career she taught at Chaney and West Junior High Schools in Youngstown, OH.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Sharon.

She was a member of Sharon College Club and the National, State and Local Education Associations. She was also a member of John XXIII Home Auxillary. She liked reading, traveling, and exercising. She was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed the theatre and performed in several productions at the Trumbull New Theatre and the Kent State Trumbull Theatre. She also directed many theatre productions in the high schools where she taught.

Her husband, Peter Joseph Julian, whom she married June or July 6, 1957, survives at home. Also surviving is a daughter, Beth Frances McLaughlin and her husband Laurence, Smithfield, VA and a son, Todd Patrick Julian and his wife Melinda, Wild Rose, WI; two sisters, Anne White, Sharpsville and Jane Hudak and her husband Robert, Venice, FL; two brothers, Patsy Nicastro and his wife Marie, Brookfield and Louis Nicastro and his wife Josephine, Niles, OH; and five grandchildren, Sean and Brooke McLaughlin, and Brianna, Alexandra and Kiana Julian.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Concetta and Filomena.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial contribution may be made in her memory to St. Joseph Church, 79 Case Avenue, Sharon, PA 16146, or to the Brookfield Fire Department 774 State Route 7 NE Brookfield, OH 44403 or the charity of your choice.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (1-25-12) in St. Joseph's Church, Sharon with Rev. John S. Lynch, retired priest as the celebrant.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage, PA.
