Lois "Elaine" (Friednamer) Palisin, 96, of Hermitage passed away peacefully with family by her side Monday evening, January 22, 2024, in St. John XXIII Home.

Elaine was born December 23, 1927, in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of John "Jack" and Florence (DuRell) Friednamer. A 1945 graduate of Sharon High School, she completed her associate's degree at Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA.

She retired from Sharon Tube Company in 1995, where she worked as an inside sales representative for 30 years.

Elaine was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Sharon.

A socialite, Elaine loved hosting parties, dancing, playing Bridge, spending time with family, and traveling with her husband and friends. In addition to watching and feeding the birds in her yard, Elaine cherished the time spent with her beloved dog, Zoey.

Her husband, John A. Palisin, whom she married November 27, 1970, preceded her in death December 1, 1999.

Elaine is survived by two daughters, Jan Boardley and Lynn Palanti (Marty), all of Hermitage; two sons, Drew Palisin (Beth), Sharon, and Jonathan Palisin (Claudia), Hermitage; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Malcolmson, Hermitage; 12 grandchildren, Katie, Mandy, Ashley, Matt, Jen, Lizzy, Chris, Tim, Trisha, Maxx, Michael, and Kelsey; 14 great-grandchildren, Andrew, Allie, Caleb, Maddie, Destiny, Blaise, Mila, Harlowe, Carsyn, Ryan, Holden, Hadley, Remy, and Quinn; and two nieces, Robyn Lepore and Amy McCune and their families.

In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by a son, Mark Malcolmson; a sister, Jackie Nielsen (Walter); a grandson, Eric Palisin; a son-in-law, Al Boardley, a nephew, Chris Nielsen; and longtime companion, Ray Weeks.

The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
