Elaine L. Maffei

Elaine L. Maffei, 79, of Hermitage, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in the Lakes of Jefferson.

Ms. Maffei was born on February 11, 1947, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Donald and Barbara (Sabljak) Maffei. She was a 1965 graduate of Reynolds High School.

Elaine held various jobs in different fields. She worked in home healthcare, the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., the former Sharon Regional Cancer Center, and, most notably, was an assembler at the former Volkswagen Assembly Plant in Pittsburgh.

A talented baker, she looked forward to hosting meals for her family and friends. Elaine also enjoyed working on crafts.

She is survived by a brother, Alfonso “Al” Maffei and his wife, Loretta, of Champion, OH; two nephews, Donald M. Maffei and his wife Laura, of Dunedin, FL, and Richad A. Maffei and his wife, Kathy, of Camillus, NY; and five great-nieces and nephews, A.J. Maffei and his wife, Lilly, Robert Maffei and his wife, Ally, Lt. Brian Maffei, Hannah Gavin, and Alice Johnson and her husband, Shawn.

In addition to her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by a sister, Joanne Aber.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148; or the Prince of Peace, 502 Darr Ave., Farrell, PA 16121.

Calling hour will be from 11 am to noon on Monday (06/29/2026) in the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage. 

Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at noon on Monday, in the church, with Rev. John Miller, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
