IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Elaine June
James
June 24, 1943 – July 27, 2024
Elaine June James, 81, of Hermitage passed away peacefully with her family at her side early Saturday morning, July 27, 2024, in the Lakes at Jefferson, following a brief but courageous battle with a rare form of brain cancer, glioblastoma.
Mrs. James was born June 24, 1943, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Walter A. and Dorothy M. (Browning) Robison, and graduated from Farrell High School in 1961.
As a young woman, Elaine worked as a secretary for First Seneca Bank, Sharon. In 1982, she began working as a surgical secretary for Sharon Regional Health System, and in 1996 transitioned to home health and hospice, retiring in 2005.
Elaine was of the Methodist faith and was raised attending First United Methodist Church of Sharon.
She loved traveling, spending money – especially while shopping, and driving her white Cadillac. Elaine always looked forward to wine nights with her friends and truly adored her grandsons, Brett and Blake.
Her husband of 41 years, William "Jim" James, whom she married July 18, 1964, preceded her in death February 25, 2006.
Elaine is survived by a daughter, Robin James-Beshero (Greg), Sharpsville; a son, Sean James, Hermitage; two grandsons, Brett and Blake Beshero; her fur-granddaughter, Bayley; and her "sister from another mister," Carol.
In addition to her husband and parents, Elaine was preceded in death by a sister, Beverly S. Robison-Kostoff.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be directed to the American Cancer Society's Brain Cancer donation portal, online at: www.donate.cancer.org.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Lakes at Jefferson for their exceptional kindness and care during their mother's last several weeks of life. The family would also like to thank Amedisys Hospice for the amazing care they provided to Elaine during her final days.
