Elaine Mae Hill, 84, of Hermitage, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, in the Addison of Garden Way Place.
Mrs. Hill was born on October 8, 1941, in New Castle, PA, a daughter of the late Samuel and Ruth (Miller) Bromley, and was a 1960 graduate of New Castle High School.
She married her husband of 63 years, Everett “Pete” Hill, on November 12, 1960. He passed away on November 7, 2023. Together, they bowled in the mixed league at 10 Pin Alley, Hermitage.
Elaine was a dedicated homemaker, and when her children were grown, she worked as a delivery driver for the former Sharon Floral.
Elaine was a former member of Chestnut Ridge Church of God, Hubbard, OH, where she volunteered for various organizations.
She was also a 50-year member of TOPS, Take Off Pounds Sensibly.
When her children were young, she looked forward to spending time together on camping trips. She also served as a brownie troop leader and was a past president of the Sharon School District PTA. Later, she enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s academic and athletic events.
She is survived by two daughters, Kimberley Downing (Joseph), of Titusville, PA, and Brenda Benton (George), of Sandy Lake, PA; a son, Jeffrey Hill (Traci), of Brookfield, OH; six grandchildren, Jeffrey Hill, Jr. (Andrea), Lindsey Downing (Chantel), Kailyn Hill, Joseph Downing, III, and his fiancé, Renee Manns, Kendra Anderson (Tyler), and Kelsey Benton; and a great-granddaughter, Madilyn Mae Anderson. Also surviving is a sister, Barbara Nesmith, of Shelton, WA; two brothers, James Bromley (Sharon), of New Castle, PA, and Richard Bromley, of Riverside, CA; a sister-in-law, Suzanne Bromley, of Warner Robins, GA; a brother-in-law, Homer Hill, of Tionesta, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and Samuel “Ben” Bromley.
The family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Day Care Program, C/O Shenango Valley Senior Center, 220 N. Buhl Farm Dr., Hermitage, PA 16148.
All services are private.
Interment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
