Edythe Evelyn Butala, Wheatland, Pa., passed away of natural causes at 2:30 p.m. Monday (3-5-12) in the Cleveland Clinic, she was 87.
She was born December 20, 1924 in Sharon the daughter of William and Edythe Alltop Stafford.
A lifelong area resident, she was a member of Sharon High Schools graduating class of 1943.
In her early years she worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
A homemaker, Edythe also worked at one time for the former Rembrandt Photography Studio in downtown Sharon, and the former Perkins, Hermitage.
She was a member of the Wheatland-Farrell United Methodist Church, Wheatland.
She loved cooking for her family and she enjoyed traveling with her husband, Daytona Beach was one of their favorite destinations.
She leaves her husband James Stephen Butala whom she married June 24, 1946.
She also leaves her daughter, Judy Giovanelli, Hermitage, her son, Stephen J. Butala and his wife Marianne Butala, Farrell, six grandchildren, Lisa Rosa (Matt), Jennifer McKenna, Robin Butala (Chuck), Ray Giovanelli (Heidi), Heather Giovanelli (Mike), six great grandchildren, Ethan and Derek Rosa, Parker Link, Jackson and Kennedy Giovanelli, and Liam Giovanelli, a sister Betty Schuster, Wheatland, two brothers, William Stafford, Hermitage, and James Stafford and his wife Shirley, Sharpsville, and a sister in law Virginia Smith, Hermitage.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Giovanelli, a son in law, Ray Giovanelli, and two brothers in laws, Henry Schuster and George Smith.
