Edwin Michael Lasche, of Hermitage, passed away under hospice care at 8 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018, in his residence. He was 91.
Mr. Lasche was born March 18, 1927, in Brooklyn, NY, a son of Edwin A. and Marie (McLaughlin) Lasche. He was a graduate of Hightstown (New Jersey) High School and served in the U.S. Merchant Marines as a radio operator during WW II.
Ed owned and operated B & R Marine, Deptford, New Jersey, and previously owned Maritime Supply in Philadelphia, Pa. He and his wife were active members of Most Holy Redeemer Church in Westville Grove, New Jersey for 50 years and also lived in the same house in Deptford, New Jersey for 50 years. They moved to Hermitage in 2009 and are members of St. Joseph Church, Sharon. Ed enjoyed golfing and playing pool.
Surviving are: his wife of 67 years, the former Patricia Ann Collins whom he married April 15, 1951; a daughter, Maryann Weiner and her husband Robert Weiner, M.D., of Hermitage; a son, William E. Lasche, of Chicago, IL; and three granddaughters, Catherine Weiner and Elizabeth Weiner, both of Philadelphia, and Alexandra Weiner, of New York, NY.
He also leaves a sister-in-law, Rita Lasche; a niece, Barbara Ferraioli and her husband Tom; and two nephews, James Lasche and his wife Erin; and Bruce Lasche and his wife Brenda.
Besides his parents, Ed was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Lasche and James Lasche; and his sons partner, Robert S. Mayo.
The Lasche family would like to thank Dr. David D'Amore for his kind and compassionate care as well as the staff at Fresenius Dialysis at Linden Pointe and Sharon Regional Hospice.
Funeral Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. today, Saturday, August 25, 2018, in St. Rose Cemetery chapel, Dutch Lane, Hermitage, with Rev. Thomas Whitman, pastor of St. Joseph Church, Sharon, as celebrant. Online condolences may be sent to the family at
