Edward G. Krichko, formerly of Hermitage, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at
4:17 p.m.
Wednesday
(2-24-16) in Hospice House, Poland, Ohio.
He was 88.
Mr. Krichko was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Sharon, a son of George and Sophie Matheidas Krichko.
He was a graduate of Hickory High School and served with the Army Signal Corp. as a field lineman during WW II.
Ed retired as a group leader from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. where he was employed for more than 40 years.
He was a lifelong member and former deacon at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage.

degree Free and Accepted Mason, Ed was a member of the former Sharon Lodge # 250 and a current member of the Kedron Lodge # 389, West Middlesex.
He was also a 55 year member of the Zem Zem Shrine, Erie, and its Oriental band; a member of the Mercer County Shrine Club, Hermitage; and a member of the Scottish Rite's Valley of New Castle Consistory.
Ed was a member of the American Legion, Post 0135; and the Chief Cornplanter, Post 135, both Warren, PA.
An outdoorsman, Ed was an avid hunter for many years, particularly in the area of the Allegheny Mountains where he built his second home.
He had a love for fishing and enjoyed spending time with his fishing buddies on Lake Erie.
He also had a green thumb for growing just about anything in a garden and enjoyed sharing his produce with family and friends.
He loved ballroom dancing at the Avon Oaks Ballroom in Warren, Ohio.
Surviving are: his love and longtime companion, Helen "Boots" Dickman; three children, Kim Edward Krichko, Girard, PA; Karen L. Snider and her husband Blaine, Poland, OH; and Heather L. Mott and her husband John, Fredonia; eight grandchildren, Ben Krichko, Jared Krichko, Kaitlyn Krichko, Kara Morris, Claire Morris, Ethan Mott, Cody Mott and Olivia Mott; a great-grandson, Andrew Krichko; a brother, Hillis Krichko and his wife Shirley, Bend, OR; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jody and Scott Marlin and their sons, Ryan and Kyle.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Amy Seley, Martha Bennett, Irene Tankersley and Mildred Bogdan; two brothers, John and Leonard Krichko; and a grandson, Michael.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3325 Morefield Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148; or Hospice of the Valley, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514.
Family will receive friends from

until the time of service
on Tuesday

A memorial service will be held at

) in the church with Rev. Gary Nelson, pastor, officiating.
All in attendance are invited to a luncheon in the church fellowship hall immediately following the service.
