Mr. Edward H. Green, 71, of West Norriton, PA, formerly of Farrell, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family following a brief battle with cancer on Friday, March 4, 2022 at Bryn Mawr Hospital, Bryn Mawr, PA.
Edward "H" was born January 13, 1951 in Blacksburg, Virginia a son of William and Pearl White Green. He was a 1968 graduate of Sharon High School and later earned his Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from Youngstown State University.
Edward "H" retired from Sharon Tube Co. where he served as the Superintendent of the hot mill. He was a community leader in the Shenango Valley which was demonstrated through his service with a number of local organizations including the Urban League (served as Board President) and the Chamber of Commerce. His true passion in any community he lived was the advocacy for disadvantaged youths. He was belovedly known as "Pops" and made it his mission to provide opportunities for youths to prosper.
Throughout his life, Edward "H" was always connected to his faith, most recently converting to the Catholic Religion. He was actively involved in his church community from Valley Baptist and Michigan Church Choirs to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church's RCIA and Knights of Columbus. He had a profound love of music from an early age. From harmonizing with his friends to singing in the Shenango Valley Chorale.
Edward "H" was always active, as many can fondly remember his racquetball battles or long bike rides through the country. During his retirement, he became an avid walker and enjoyed meeting new people. You could always find him on a bench passing along encouragement and love to everyone he met. Edward "H"'s zest for life was showcased in his boisterous, infectious laugh. Above all, it was reflected in the love he had for his family and his grand doggies, especially T.J.
He is survived by his daughters, Roshelle Green, Hermitage; Cara Green, West Norriton, PA; his son, Justin (Melissa) Green, Conshohocken, PA,; grandson, Donte Green, Pittsburgh; granddaughter, Isabella Green, Hermitage; brothers, Veral Adair, Jr., Farrell; George Wilson, Michigan; stepfather, Veral Adair, Sr., Farrell; former wife, Elizabeth (Bette) Green, Hermitage; and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Green; father, William Green; mother, Pearl Adair; sister, Carol Jones; and brother, John Green.

Funeral service will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home with Rev. Terry Harrison, pastor of Valley Baptist Church, Farrell, officiating.
The family will hold a private mass at BVM Church, West Norriton, PA on a later date.
