Edward Andrew "Buck" Bukovinsky, a 56-year resident of Sharpsville, passed away at 4:15 a.m. Thursday, May 30, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a 16-year fight with cancer. He was 86. Mr. Bukovinsky was born Feb. 27, 1927, in Farrell, a son of John and Anna Krupa Bukovinsky. Mr. Bukovinsky attended the former St. Ann's Parochial Grade School, Farrell; and Farrell High School. Buck, as he was called by all, served as a corporal in the Army during World War II. Following his honorable discharge in 1951, he was employed in the maintenance department of the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp., retiring with more than 40 years of service. He was a longtime member of St. Bartholomew's Church in Sharpsville. Buck married the former Dorothy Kashmer on May 18, 1957; they recently celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary at home with their children and grandchildren. Buck and Dorothy enjoyed camping, flea marketing, garage sales and time spent with family, grandchildren and all of their pets. Mr. Bukovinsky leaves behind: his lovely wife, Dorothy; three children, Bruce Bukovinsky and his wife Maria, Transfer; Mary Ann Goughler and her husband Bruce, Sharpsville; and Dale Marie Dawson and her husband Tim, Volant; seven grandchildren, Brad and Brandon Bukovinsky, both Transfer; Elisha and Josh Dawson, both Volant; Tonya and Patrick Meals, Oil City; and Mike and Nicole Goughler, also Oil City; and Jeff and Leigh Ann Goughler, Sligo, Pa.; seven great-grandchildren, Jake, Alex and Taylor Meals; and Emily, Eric, Ethan and Emma Goughler; a sister-in-law, Aleda Bukovinsky, Youngstown; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers, John, Andrew, Michael, George, Steven, Joseph and Robert Bukovinsky; and two sisters, Anna Bukovinsky and Mary Katakowski. A very special thank-you to Cancer Care Center on Highland Road, Hermitage, and all the doctors, nurses and staff; Bill McIntyre of Rite Aid, Hermitage; First National Bank of Sharpsville and all employees; and Sharon Regional Health System Hospice. Stockton, pastor of St. Bartholomew's Church, Sharpsville, officiating. As a special request by Buck, all in attendance are encouraged to wear Pittsburgh Steelers attire. Interment: St. Ann's Cemetery, Hermitage, with military honors rendered by the West Middlesex VFW, Wheatland American Legion and Farrell VFW Honor Guard.
