Earl L. "Buck" Bottenfield, Jr., 84, of Sharon, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, in Quality Life Services, Mercer.

Mr. Bottenfield was born on March 15, 1941, in Sharon, a son of the late Earl and Emma (Baldwin) Bottenfield, Sr.

He was employed for more than 20 years at the former General American Transportation Corp (GATX), Masury, OH. Upon the plant's closure, he worked at Greenwood Pharmacy in Hermitage, CCL Container in Wheatland and Grace Chapel Community Church in Hermitage.

Earl was a devout Christian who trusted in the Lord and was a member of  Grace Chapel Community Church.

He loved golfing, Bible study, and in his early years, playing Bingo with his wife, Dorie.

His wife, the former Doris Mae West, whom he married on May 20, 1958, passed away on June 15, 2021.

He is survived by three sons, Donald F. Bottenfield, Randal L. Bottenfield and his wife Beth, and Daniel M. Bottenfield, Sr., all of Sharon; three grandchildren, Corie Lynn Bottenfield, of Sharon, Daniel Bottenfield, Jr. and his wife Ashley, of Sharpsville, and Heather Jean Runyan and her husband Nic, of Hermitage; five great grandchildren, Ashley Wood, Colin Bottenfield, Stephen Runyan, and Scarlett and Henry Bottenfield; one great-great-grandchild, Dahlia Mae Wood-Harcourt; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, Earl was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Deidre Bottenfield; a grandson, Jason Bottenfield; and a brother, Robert Bombeck.
