Drew J. Balach, 60, of Sharon, passed away on Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in his home.
Drew was born February 27, 1959, in Sharon, a son of the late George and Elizabeth (Baborsky) Balach and was a 1978 graduate of Farrell High School.
Drew retired after 30 years of employment at General Motors, Lordstown plant, where he served as a line worker, committeeman and a union leader.
Drew was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church, Hermitage. He was also a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge #103; VFW, Post #1338; American Legion, Post #299, all in Sharon; Slovak Home and the Italian Home, both in Farrell.
An avid Pittsburgh sports fan, he also enjoyed bowling, hunting and going to the nascar race in Bristol, TN. Above all, Drew cherished his time with family and friends.
He leaves behind a daughter, Summer Blatt, of Sharpsville; three grandchildren, Addie and Kyla Blatt and Zayden Musch; a sister, Denise Flocco and her husband Edmond, of Hermitage; a sister-in-law, Linda Balach, of Tacoma, Wash.;a nephew, Edmond Flocco; his best friends, Bobby Johnson, of Masury, OH, and Joe Domascieno, of Hubbard, OH; and his beloved dog, Diamond.
In addition to his parents, Drew was preceded in death by a daughter, Teal Balach; and a brother, Greg Balach.
Calling hours will be 4 p.m. until the time of the service Wednesday (03/27/2019) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.
Funeral service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home.
Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
