Obituary

Dorothy M. Woge of Mercer, formerly of Hermitage Hill Apartments and Christy Road, both Hermitage, passed away peacefully of natural causes at 10 p.m. Friday (7-5-13) in Countryside Personal Care Home. She was 90. Dorothy was born May 5, 1923, in Farrell, a daughter of John and Daisey Mae Lewis Wilcox. Dorothy was raised in Farrell and graduated from Farrell High School. She worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. for 22 years. A homemaker, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed traveling, a good game of cards and bowling in her earlier years. Her husband, Charles Woge, whom she married Feb. 6, 1965, passed away Dec. 8, 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Jean LaCamera, Mercer; a son, James R. Smith, Hermitage; and eight grandchildren and 16 greatgrandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren and one greatgrandson; four brothers, Frank, Carl, Donald and Clifford Wilcox; and her former husband, Robert W. Smith. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, 235 Alpha Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15238; or the American Cancer Society, 3208 Suite B, Wilmington Road, New Castle, PA 16105. Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Tuesday (7-9-13) in the funeral home chapel with Pastor David Robinson of Chapel of Mercer officiating. Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
