Dorothy "Dot" J. Schneider of S. Pymatuning Township passed away at
3:19 p.m.
Thursday, April 21, 2016, in her residence, following a brief illness.
She was 88.
Mrs. Schneider was born March 12, 1928, in Niles, Ohio, a daughter of Frank and Anna Bott Mausser.
She moved to Sharon in 1936 and was a 1945 alumna of Sharon High School.
Dot began working at the former M & M Bank during the 1940's and retired from the St. Joseph Anesthesiology Group in Warren, Ohio.
She and her husband, "Dink," also co-owned the former Schneider's Golden Dawn at the corner of Smith Ave. and Griswold St. in Sharon and later the Kinsman (Ohio) Golden Dawn.
She was a member of St. Bartholomew Church, Sharon; and a former longtime member of St. Joseph Church, Sharon.
Dot was a proud supporter of Pro-Life causes and was an avid reader.
She and a group of close knit friends began a card club in high school and met monthly for more than 70 years.
Dot and Dink loved to golf and looked forward to golfing in Florida with friends.
They also enjoyed annual fishing vacations to Canada during the summer.
She was most happy when she was with her family and there was a baby in the room.
Surviving are: her husband of 68 years, Francis R. "Dink" Schneider, whom she married in the former St. Joseph Church, Sharon, on September 1, 1947; 13 children, Mike Schneider and his wife Cindy, Cortland, OH; Paul Schneider and his wife Kay, Kinsman, OH; Fred Schneider and his wife Syd, Cody, WY; Tim Schneider and his companion Debe Tarkenton, Bessemer, PA; Joe Schneider and his wife Debbie, Dickinson, ND; Andy Schneider and his wife Trisha, Houston, TX; Margie Bougher and her husband John, Clark, PA; Dave Schneider and his wife Lois, Brookfield, OH; Steve Schneider and his wife Mary Beth, Cumming, GA; Jane Moose and her husband Ron, New Castle, PA; Dot Cerroni and her husband Dan, Sharon; Fran Wilson and her husband Bob, also Sharon; and Mark Schneider and his wife Denna, Vienna, OH; 33 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Phillips and her husband Jack, St. Petersburg, FL; a sister-in-law, Judy Mausser, Sharon; and several nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn Stewart; two brothers, Frank Mausser, Jr. and Dan Mausser; and an infant grandson, Caleb Schneider.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Bartholomew Church, 311 W. Ridge Ave., Sharpsville, PAS 16150.
