Dorothy "Dottie" Schell of Sharon passed away at 1:20 a.m. Friday, October 6, 2017, in UPMC Jameson Hospital, New Castle. She was 74.
Mrs. Schell was born May 24, 1943, in Sharon, a daughter of Frank, Sr. and Laura (Pete) Negrea. She was a 1963 graduate of Sharon High School. In addition to being a homemaker, Dottie was employed as a bartender and waitress at the American Carpo Russ Club; Marigold, both Sharon; the former Pipeline, Hermitage; and the former Point After, Farrell. She also worked at Rite-Aid, Farrell; and Charles Specialties, Hermitage.
Dottie was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sharon. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the American Carpo Russ Club, Sharon. Dottie cherished the time spent with her family and enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, dancing and playing cards, especially euchre.
Surviving are: her husband, William E. Schell, Sr., whom she married on June 13, 1964; a daughter, Angel M. Schell and her husband Michael, Sharon; three sons, William E. Schell, Jr. and his wife Monica, Farrell; Robert F.L. Schell and his wife Mary, Brookfield, OH; and John A. Schell and his wife Selina, Sharon; a sister, Maria Klaric and her husband Al; two brothers, Frank Negrea, Jr.; and John Negrea and his wife Linda, all of Sharon; six grandchildren, Alauna M. and Chase R. Schell; Michael C. Herrmann-Schell; Lilyana R. Schell; Ian Simmons; and Shane Adsit; and one great grandson, William E. Schell, IV.
She was preceded in death by her parents; seven sisters, Frances Negrea; Helen Mortimer; Virginia Enedy; Florence Porterfield; Sharon Ann Woods; Elizabeth "Betty" Negrea; and Dolly Kephart; a brother, Michael Negrea; and a grandson, William E. Schell, III.
Calling hours will be 4 to 7p.m. Monday (10/09/2017) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon .
Funeral service will be 10a.m Tuesday ( 10/10/2017 ) in the funeral home with Rev. Glenn Hink, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Sharon officiating.
Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
