Dorothy Catherine Ogg, 96, of Sharon, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 24, 2026, in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage, where she had been comforted by family and friends since June.

Dorothy was born on September 25, 1929, in Sharon, a daughter of the late William and Helen (King) Donnelly. She attended the former St. Joseph’s Parochial Grade School and was a 1947 graduate of Sharon High School.

Prior to marriage, she was employed at the Golden Dawn Warehouse for nearly seven years.

Her loving husband of 67 years, William W. Ogg, whom she married on September 11, 1954, passed away on October 18, 2021.

Dorothy was a devout Catholic and an active member of St. Joseph’s Church in Sharon, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and church greeter and helped with its food pantry. She made many life-long friends as a member of the church's Ladies Auxiliary Guild, particularly, its hospitality committee.

A mom at heart, she was extremely supportive of St. Joseph’s Parochial Grade School, assisting at many of the school’s activities and serving on the PTA while her children attended from 1961 to 1984.

Dorothy had a true philanthropic nature and generously gave to countless charities. One of her most endearing qualities was always remembering friends and families with thoughtful greeting cards and notes to let them know how much they were loved.

She is survived by five daughters, Margaret (Terry) Ebert, of Howland, OH, Joanne (Mark) Erdesky, of Hermitage, Susan Taylor, of Sharon, Mary (John) Scelsi, of Greenville, and Elizabeth (Michael) Izenas, of Sharon; a son, Thomas (Kimberly) Ogg, of Sharon; 14 grandchildren, Matt Ebert, Daniel (Morgan) Ebert, Steven (Stephanie) Erdesky, Kate (Garrett) Hall, Nick (Ashley) Erdesky, Luke Taylor, Troy (Lynnette) Taylor, Molly (Garett) Rowe, Nick Taylor, Alicia (Levi) Stoyer, Douglas Izenas, Gracie (Tristan Perry) Izenas, Jessica Izenas and Paige Ogg; 10 great-grandchildren, Paisley, Annaleigh, Carson, Jovie, Asher, Annelise, Emma, Amelia, Liam and Kendall; and one great-grandchild on the way, whom she was so excited to meet. Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Helen Donnelly, of Hermitage; and multiple loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Louise Wassil, and Adahl and Helen Donnelly; and five brothers, William, Robert, Edward, Frank and Joseph Donnelly.

Dorothy’s family would like to thank the staff of St. John XXIII Home, Helping Hands Hospice, and her Golden Care Givers for the exceptional care given to their mother.
