Dorothy L. McCormick, 90, of Slippery Rock Township, passed away at 2:15 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2016, in UPMC Jameson, New Castle.

Mrs. McCormick was born January 28, 1926, in Shaler Township, Allegheny County. She was a daughter of Walter B. and Lorene Whipkey Nicodemus.

A homemaker, Dorothy kept an immaculate home and enjoyed looking after her four children.

Her husband, Gerald D. McCormick, whom she married January 23, 1952, passed away December 24, 2015.

She was a member of Grace Bible Church, Shenango Township. Dorothy was also a member of the Harmony Museum Society, Harmony, Pa.

She enjoyed arts and crafts and spending time with her family, particularly the time she shared with her grandchildren.

Surviving are four children, Gail and Brian McCormick, both of New Castle, and Linda Burns and Bill McCormick, both of Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Lechner, Jodie and Jeff McCormick, and Robert Jr., Richard and Kevin Burns.

In addition to her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Brandon Moore.

Calling hours will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of service Wednesday (12-14-16) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle. Funeral service will be 6 p.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home, with Rev. Matthew Bupp officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Herman-Union Cemetery.
