Obituary

Dorothy M. Dirgo, Farrell, passed away unexpectedly at 2:45 p.m. Saturday (8-11-12) in Akron Medical Center after a brief illness. She was 85.

She was born in Farrell September 20, 1926 the daughter of Anthony and Nellie Burke Grande and she had an upbringing that molded her strength of character and love of life.

She graduated from Farrell High School in 1944.

Dorothy met the love of her life, John Dirgo at the former Sharon Westinghouse where they both worked.

A homemaker she belonged to Our Lady of Fatima St. Ann's Church, Farrell.

She enjoyed singing in the choir in her youth and kept a song in her heart all of her life. She loved to sing and whistle and the joy in her heart showed through an ever-present twinkle in her eye. All who loved her will dearly miss her.

She married John Dirgo July 10th 1948 and together they were blessed with four children, John passed away May 1,2001.

Her family was her life and she selflessly devoted her energy and gifts to the betterment of her family.

She is survived by one daughter, Deborah A. Mosora and her husband Paul, Brookfield, Oh, and her three sons, Richard J. Dirgo and his wife Leslie, Garden Grove, CA, Larry J. Dirgo and his wife Kristi, Menifee, Ca, and Robert T. Dirgo and his wife Mary, Akron, Oh, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by, a brother, Donald Grande, and a sister, Katherine Kraus.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann's Church, 601 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, Pa 16121.

Calling hours: 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (8-15-12) in the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc. 1090 E. State St. Sharon. A rosary will be recited at 7:45.

Services: Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday (8-16-12) in Our Lady of Fatima St. Ann's Church with Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor as the celebrant. A brief prayer service will begin at 9:45 a.m. in the funeral home prior to leaving for the church.

Interment: St. Elizabeth's Cemetery, Hermitage.
