Obituary

Beloved Mother, Dorothy Alberta Campbell, of Greenfield, PA, formerly of Uniontown, PA left this world to join our Heavenly Father for eternal life at 4:50 a.m., Sunday, October 23, 2011. She was 88.

Dorothy was born January 6, 1923 in Uniontown, PA the daughter of Charles V. and Mary Ellen Kane Wilhelm.

She attended school in North Union Twp., Fayette County, PA.

A homemaker, Dorothy worked early in her life in the housekeeping departments of Uniontown, Mercer Cottage, and Farrell Hospitals for many years.

A happy life, she really enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a kind soul who was generous with her time and willing to help anyone in need. Some of her hobbies were gardening, cooking, roller skating, but her favorite was music, enjoying everything from Guy Lombardo, Elvis Presley to George Strait. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren, and great ? grandchildren, whom she cherished.

She is a former member of Lebanon United Presbyterian Church and the women's association at the church.

Her husband, Herbert H. Campbell, whom she married December 24, 1940, and spent fifty-four wonderful years together, passed away July 6, 1995.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol Ann Campbell and Brenda J. Chipps and her husband Patrick, all of Newton Falls, OH and Doris M. Riley, West Middlesex, PA; one son, Herbert N. Campbell and his wife Beverley 'Jean', Nazareth, PA; two sisters, Vera DiMatteo, Uniontown, PA and Betty Kroftcheck of Macedonia, OH; four grandchildren, Lori Lynn Dingle and her husband Jay, Shawn Campbell and his wife Heather, Ricketta Malloy, and Schwan Santos; eight great grandchildren, Leightee, Danen, Deja and Marissa Malloy, Savannah and Natalya Forrester, Paetyn and Quinn Campbell, and one great great grandchild, Ameris Phillips.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Wilhelm and seven sisters, Ruth Angel, Jane Sparacio, Sara Martone, Erma McNair, Martha Dargin, Marie Wilhelm, and Shirley Gogoel.

James Robert Campbell, 455 S. State Line Rd., Sharon, PA passed away at 5:55 a.m. Friday (1-08-10) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System following a period of failing health. He was 82.

Mr. Campbell was born January 6, 1928 in Sharpsville a son of the late Joseph Walter and Myrtle Ann Fisher Campbell.

A lifelong area resident he attended school in Transfer. Mr. Campbell retired in 1990 as a physical tester in the metallurgical department of Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant where he was employed for 44 years.

He was a member of Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon. He was a member of the Sharon Steel Retiree's Association and the United Steel Workers of America. A Free and Accepted Mason, Jim was a member of Lodge # 810, Hermitage. He served with the Merchant Marines in the European Theater during W.W.II and was a member of the Hickory VFW, Hermitage Post # 6166.

His wife, the former Mary Ann Petricini, whom he married December 15, 1946, passed away December 4, 2002.

Surviving are: a daughter, Deborah A. Dunder and her husband Mark, West Middlesex, PA; a son, Joseph W. Campbell and his wife Rosemary, Howland, Ohio; four grandchildren, James and Sarah Campbell; and Mary and Amanda Dunder.

Besides his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by three sisters, Doris Knapp, Helen Tennant and Nancy Llewellyn; and four brothers, William, John, Leroy and Raymond Campbell.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Association, Development Department, 27001 Agoura Rd., Calabasas, CA 91301.

Calling hours will be 1-4 p.m. Sunday (1-10-10) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.
