Dorothy Ann Callahan, 91, formerly of New Wilmington, passed away on Thursday morning July 28, 2016 in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 24, 1924 to the late Thomas and Mary McCormick Fleck. Dorothy was a 1941 graduate of New Castle High School.

She married Ernest J. Callahan on January 29, 1946 and he preceded her in death on December 2, 1985.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family.

Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Marcia A. DeCristoforo of Palmyra, PA and Janice M. (Jim) Lash of Smithfield, VA; three sons, Larry T. (Kay) Callahan of Pulaski, Jerry E. (Sudie) Callahan of Palmyra, PA and Keith J. (Cindy) Callahan of Plain Grove, PA. Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister Mary Lou Houck and a grandson Justin Callahan.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday (7-31-16) at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 111 W. Falls St.

A procession will leave the funeral home on Monday (08-01-16) at 9:30 a.m. for St. Mary's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by the Rev. Frank Almade, Pastor.

Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
