Dorothy L. Bole, 97, of Hermitage passed away Saturday afternoon, February 24, 2024, in Quality Life Services, Mercer.

Mrs. Bole was born May 30, 1926, in Sharon, a daughter of the late Wain and Estella (Johnson) Lyth.

For 30 years, Dorothy worked on the assembly line at the Packard Electric Div. of the General Motors Co., Warren, OH.

Dorothy was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Sharon.

An avid BINGO player, she also loved playing cards with family and friends. Dorothy was a talented knitter and made many Afghans for her loved ones.

Her husband of 38 years, John F. Bole, whom she married in 1947 preceded her in death in 1985.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Kenneth Boles (Dahline), Hermitage; a sister-in-law, Alice Lyth, Sharon; and a granddaughter, Lindsey Jacobson (Mathew), Hermitage.

In addition to her husband and parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Lapikas, Norma Root, and Bonita Laverty; and five brothers, William, Donald, Robert, Fred, and Bud Lyth.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services.

Entombment: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
