Obituary

Donna Dzurinda Baldwin, 80, of Farrell, passed away Friday evening, February 3, 2023, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Donna was born on March 15, 1942, in Sandy Lake, PA, a daughter of the late LeRoy and Marie (McMullen) Pearson. She was a 1960 graduate of Sharon High School and the former Wil-Mar Beauty School, which was taught at Penn State Cosmetology. She also attended Kent State University where she obtained her Ohio State Realtors License.

Throughout her career, Donna owned Hairs Gone, Farrell and Donna's Hair Salon, Hartford, OH. She was a former hair removal technologist, massage therapist and hair styling teacher of cosmetology.

Donna was a devoted member of St. Anthony's Church, Sharon, where she was a "Palatschinke Princess," actively volunteering in the kitchen for the church fundraising drives.

A philanthropist, she was a co-founder and the first president of the Mercer County Women's Association, the past president and the 2001 woman of the year for the Shenango Valley Chapter of the American Business Women's Association, and the Quota Club of Hermitage. When her children were in school, Donna was the past president of the Hartford PTO, and she was a co-founder of the Badger Athletic Boosters Club.

She is survived by three sons, Stephen (Diane) Dzurinda, Brookfield, Todd Dzurinda, Champion, OH, Matthew (Tracie) Dzurinda, Bowling Green, KY; a stepson, Jeffrey (Holly) Baldwin, Winthrop, ME; seven grandchildren, Meagan Ramey, Trevor, Gregory and Zachary Dzurinda, Abigail Lucas, Shane Yoder and Bryton Baldwin; and one great-grandson, Theodore Ramey; a sister-in-law, Katherine Kovach; five nephews, Charles, Scott and David Pearson, and Jerry and John Kovach; three nieces, Susie Paul, Roxanne Pagley and Andrea Detelich.

In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Dzurinda; her second husband, Walter Baldwin; a brother, Charles Pearson; a brother-in-law, Tom Kovach.

Mass of Christian burial will be at noon, Thursday, in the church.
