Donald R. Schell, 85, a longtime resident of Union Twp., passed away April 21, 2016 in the Golden Hill Nursing Home.

He was born August 11, 1930 in New Castle, PA to John and Hazel Belle Robison Schell and was a 1948 graduate of Union High School.

Donald was a pattern maker by trade and worked for Gill Pattern in New Castle, as well as other shops in PA, OH, and FL.

He was an active member of the Lawrence County Sportsman Club for many years and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

He is survived by a daughter, Marcia (Jim) Banfill, of Lowell, MI; two sons, John (Charlette) Schell, of Henderson, NC and Ronald Schell, of Lowell, MI; 4 grandsons, John Schell, of Fuquay-Varina, NC, Jason (April) Schell, of Bunnlevel, NC, Matthew Bishop, of San Antonio, TX and Gage Schell, of Lowell, MI; 11 great- grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a sister, Ethel Mae Schell, of Orlando. FL.

Donald was preceded in death by his parents, former wife, Nancy McFall Schell St. Esprit and a son, Carl E. Schell.
