Donald Ray Robinson, 85, of Slippery Rock Township passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, December 13, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Robinson was born January 18, 1939, in New Castle, a son of the late William Ray and Margaret Evelyn (Kent) Robinson, and was a 1957 alumnus of Shenango High School.

Don retired from State Farm Insurance in January of 1999 following 22 years of service as a claims adjuster. He was previously employed by the Crane Company where he worked as a foundry foreman for 13 years.

A devout Christian, Don was a member of Keys to the Kingdom Church in Shenango Township. His faith coincided with his life's passion – Gospel singing. In addition being a member of the church worship team, Don managed and sang in several music groups throughout his life, most notably: Gospel Serchers for 13 years, In One Accord for 11 years, and The Robinson's for 12 years.

A man of faith and family who enjoyed spending time in his garden, he actively supported his wife, children, and grandchildren in all their passions and endeavors.

His beloved wife of 64 years, Wilma (Moore) Robinson, whom he married on June 24, 1960, survives at home.

Don is also survived by a daughter, Barbara Linebaugh (Terry), of Shenango Township; and a son, Donald R. Robinson, Jr. (Jan), of Slippery Rock Township; a sister, Karen Bitker (Joe Henderson), Oceanside, CA; six grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.

Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday (12-18-24) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
