IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald Edwin
Phillips
June 9, 1937 – March 15, 2025
Donald Edwin Phillips, 87, of The Villages, FL, formerly of Sharon, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, in his home.
Mr. Phillips was born on June 9, 1937, in Sharon, a son of the late Carl and Rita (Hess) Phillips. He was a 1955 graduate of Sharon High School and attended Penn State University, Shenango Valley Campus and received his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Youngstown State University.
He was employed at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Upon the sale and plant closure, he transferred to the new owner's facility, ABB Inc., in Alamo, TN.
Don was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed the life he was given and loved spending time with his family. In his earlier years he was an avid hunter and fisherman enjoying the mountains, fields and streams. As he got a bit older, his attention turned to golf. During his golfing time he scored ten hole-in-ones.
Throughout his life he was a painter and a writer: his painting subjects varied while his writings focused primarily on things of a spiritual nature and led to the publication of his book, The Many Faces of Dawn.
He is survived by his wife, the former Darlene Fairbanks of New Castle, PA, whom he married on June 1, 1957; a daughter, Julie DeMary (Bob Watros), of the Villages; three sons, Shawn Phillips (Pam), Dennis Phillips (Jacque), both of Mt. Juliet, TN, and Donald Phillips (Wendy), of Wickford, RI; three brothers, Richard Phillips (Jackie), of Hermitage, Thomas Phillips (Joan), of Masury, OH, and Edward (Ted) Phillips (Barbara), of Erie, PA; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
