Donald Earl Goughnour, 69, of New Castle, passed away at 5:30 p.m. Monday (7/4/2016) in his residence following a brief illness.

Mr. Goughnour was born February 26, 1947 in Johnstown, Pa the son of Clarence and Hilda M. Smith Goughnour.

He was a 1965 graduate of Winber High School, Johnstown.

He retired from Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown, where he was a millwright for 40 years and a member of the United Steelworker's Union.

Following retirement, Don owned and operated his own mechanic shop, Budget Auto, in Windber.  He also worked as a delivery driver for Car Quest.

Don was a member of New Hope Wesleyan Church, New Castle.  He was a NASCAR enthusiast and was a great fan of Dale Earnhardt, Sr.  He loved watching the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He is survived by his wife, the former Kathy L. Wilmes whom he married April 16, 2005. One son, Donald E. Goughnour, Jr. and his wife Sherrie, Winber; one daughter, Patricia L. Archeletta and her husband Rey, New Castle; four grandchildren, Steven and Troy Archeletta and Elizabeth and Christine Goughnour; three great grandchildren, Steven, Jacob and Tory Archeletta.  Also surviving are a brother-in-law, Tim Wilmes and his wife Peggy, New Castle; three nieces and one nephew; and his dog Buster.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Charles Goughnour.
