Obituary

A Mass of Christian burial will be held for Donald Joseph Conti of Farrell, PA, who passed away unexpectedly of natural causes at 8:50 p.m. Wednesday (2-24-16) in Ft. Myers, FL. He was 82.

Mr. Conti was born March 19, 1933, in Sharon, a son of Philip and Felicia Manzi Conti. He attended the former Sacred Heart Parochial Grade School in Sharon and was a 1952 graduate of Brookfield High School.

Don retired as a crane man in 1992 from Sharon Steel's former Farrell plant where he was employed for 38 years.

Following his retirement, he was a currier for Sharon Regional Health System for 10 years.

A devout Catholic, he was a longtime active member of Our Lady of Fatima-St Ann Church, Farrell, and its Bethany Club.

Don served with the Navy Reserves for 12 years and was a member of the American Legion, Post # 299, Sharon.

Surviving are: his wife of 61 years, Mary (Busciglio) Conti, whom he married Feb. 19, 1955, in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell, by the late Monsignor Geno Monti; a daughter, Donna M. Miller and her husband Charles, Sharpsville; a son, Gregory P. Conti and his wife Nicole, Myrtle Beach, SC; and three grandchildren, Danielle Miller, Dominic Conti and Aidon Conti.

He also leaves a sister, Anne Curtin, Hubbard, OH; two brothers, Ralph Conti, Canfield, OH; and Philip Conti, Jr., Columbus, OH; a sister-in-law, Angelina LoScalzo, Sharon; a brother-in-law, Richard Grimm, Warren, OH; cousins; and nieces and nephews.

Don was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He cherished his family, which he was extremely proud of, and looked forward to the time they shared together.

He loved the outdoors and, years earlier, was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed a good meal, walking in Buhl Park, traveling, classic cars and motorcycles, aviation shows and tinkering with anything that needed fixed, such as motors, lawn mowers etc.

His patience and love was a virtue in everything he did and he will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Fatima-St. Ann Church, 600 Roemer Blvd., Farrell, PA 16121; or Buhl Park Corporation, 715 Hazen Rd., Hermitage, PA 16148.
