Donald Lee Altman Sr., 78, formerly of Neshannock Township, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015, at Edison Manor Nursing Center. He was born in New Castle on May 15, 1937, to the late Samuel D. and Nancy Stephens Altman. Donald was a graduate of New Castle High School. He retired from the Pennsylvania Engineering Co. as a draftsman. He was a member of Jubilee Ministries International and a former member of First Church of God. Donald enjoyed going hunting and camping with his family and friends. He is survived by three daughters, Margie Myers and her husband, Paul, of Bradford Woods, Pa., Kathy Ziler and her husband, John, of Royal Oak, Mich., and Celeste Bonanni and her husband, Don, of Grove City; two sons, Don Altman Jr. of Kansas City and Leland Altman and his wife, Kim, of Van Buren, Ark.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his former wives, Janice Owrey of Slippery Rock and Lovery Ellis of New Castle. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy Altman; three brothers; Robert, James "Dick" and Thomas Altman; and a sister, Betty "Toots" McCrumb. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St. Funeral services will be held privately by the family.
