Dominic J. Albanese Sr. of Seneca Place, 5360 Saltsburg Road, Verona, formerly of Lake Road, Sharpsville, passed away peacefully Monday (10-4-10) after more than a yearlong battle from his injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in August of 2009 in Jefferson Township. He was 49.
Mr. Albanese was born Sept. 26, 1961, in Greenville, a son of William and Virginia Riley Albanese.
A lifelong area resident, he was a member of Hickory High School's graduating Class of 1979.
He worked as a drywall finisher throughout the area for many years and previously worked for Jac's Kitchen and Counters, Farrell.
He was a member of the Sons of Italy Shenango Valley Lodge 875, Sharon. An outdoorsman, Dominic loved hunting, fishing and watching sunsets; he especially loved to ride his motorcycle.
He is survived by: his son, Dominic J. Albanese Jr., Sharpsville; a stepson, Les Krauss, Sharon; six sisters, Sharon Albanese Williams and her husband Mark, Hermitage; Sandy Thompson and her husband Emmett; Patty Santel and Barby Long Cooper, all Greenville; and Janet Bentu; and Mary Jane Fincher and her husband Andrew, all Australia; and four brothers, Bruce Long and his wife Elaine, Meadville; Ed Long and his wife Hope, Greenville; Richard Albanese; and Bill Albanese Jr. and his wife Elaine, all Australia.
He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Nicole Albanese; his parents, his grandparents and two sisters, Virginia and Roberta Long.
