Obituary

Diane S. Conti, 80, of Jefferson Twp., passed away following an extended illness one week shy of her 81st birthday on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, in Eagle Pointe Skilled Nursing and Rehab, Orwell, Ohio.

Mrs. Conti was born July 10, 1937, in Lamartine, PA; a daughter of Eugene H. and Vivian (Gilger) Mull. A graduate of Keystone High School, Knox, PA; earned her bachelor's degree in home economics from Indiana State Teachers College (IUP) in 1960; and her master's degree in education from Penn State University in 1965.


Before starting a family, Diane was employed as a teacher at the former Monaca (PA) High School and New Castle High School. Later she taught home economics at Mercer County Cooperative Extension.

Diane was a census worker for the Mercer Area School District for several years. She served as judge of elections and as a poll worker for Jefferson Twp. West and was a volunteer at the Jefferson Twp. Fair. She also judged displays at several other local fairs

Diane was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church, Lamartine. A homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, traveling, reading and spending time with her family.

Her husband, Marcellino "March" Conti, whom she married on August 8, 1967, passed away September 10, 2001.

Diane is survived by two sons, Christopher L. Conti, Hermitage; and Eric M. Conti, Clarion, PA; two sisters-in-law, Mary Graziani and her husband James; and Catherine Westcott, both of New Castle; and a brother-in-laws, Francis Saad, West Middlesex.


In addition to her husband, Diane was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother-in-law, Joseph and Antoinetta De Felice Conti; a sister-in-law, Palma Saad; and two brothers-in-law, Barry Westcott; and Anthony Conti in infancy.


Diane's family would like to thank the staff at Eagle Pointe for the exceptional care and compassion they gave their mother.

Calling hours will be 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday (07/08/2018) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 East State St., Sharon.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday (07/09/2018) in the funeral home, with Rev. Gary Nelson, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Hermitage, officiating.

Interment: Mt. Washington Cemetery, Jefferson Twp.
