Obituary

Deloris M. "Ducky" Verroco, 88, of Hermitage passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday evening, October 26, 2018, in her residence.

Mrs. Verroco was born March 2, 1930, in Wheatland, a daughter of the late Charles and Florence (Laycock) Cole.  A lifelong area resident, she graduated from Farrell High School in 1948.

Although she had worked for several retail stores on a part time basis, Ducky was primarily a homemaker, dedicating her life to caring for her family and their home.

She was a member of the Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage.

Ducky was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed playing cards with friends, particularly 500. She also liked listening and dancing to polka music, watching NASCAR, going shopping and eating out with good company.  An avid bowler, she participated in many bowling leagues throughout the years. Ducky loved spending time with her family, especially babysitting her grandchildren or attending their sporting events, and taking walks though Buhl Park with her sister, Tessie.

Surviving are: her beloved husband of 69 years, Gene Verroco, Sr., whom she married November 6, 1948, Hermitage; two daughters, Rogene Verroco, Hermitage, and Maria (Donnie) Harkless, West Middlesex; a son, Gene "Geno" Verroco, Jr., Hermitage; a sister, Tessie McCluskey, Farrell; two grandchildren, Dustin (Kaitlyn) Hogg and Morgan Harkless; and two great grandchildren, Bryson and Austin.

In addition to her parents, Ducky was preceded in death by a sister, Thelma Valimont; and three brothers, Charles Cole, Jr., Melvin Cole and Robert Cole.

Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday (11-2-18) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1090 E. State St., Sharon.

Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday (11-3-18) in the Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Rd., Hermitage, with Very Rev. Richard Allen, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: Oakwood Cemetery, Hermitage.
