Delores Witzigman of Hermitage passed away Friday, April 27, 2018, in her residence.
She was 88.
Mrs. Witzigman was born November 5, 1929, in Turlock, California, a daughter of Donald H. and Rosella (Moriarty) Berlin.
She moved to the area in 1936 and attended Wheatland Elementary School and Farrell High School.
Years earlier, Delores was employed for 14 years as a clerk at the former Alvin Jewelers in Treasure Island, Hermitage.
An exceptional homemaker and a member of the Homemaker Club, she enjoyed sewing, vegetable and flower gardening, cooking and baking.
Delores was a longtime member of the former Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon.
She was also a member of the AARP Card Club and for more than twenty years attended the U.S. Army's 28
th
Division Retirement Club reunion with her husband, Robert M. Witzigman, Sr., whom she married December 15, 1945, and who passed away February 13, 2014.
Surviving are: a daughter, Cherie L. Witzigman, Hermitage; three granddaughters, Bobbie Jean Stefanowicz and her husband David, Greenville; Christy Witzigman, Hermitage; and Arron Jean Yankowicz and her husband Brent, Jacksonville, FL; six great grandchildren, Austin Lauper; Rasce, Bryce and Skylar Stefanowicz; and Kingston and William Yankowicz; a brother, Donald Berlin and his wife Sharon, Berlin Center, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Witzigman, Hermitage; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Delores was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert M. Witzigman, Jr.; a brother, John Berlin; a daughter-in-law, Eugenia "Jeanie" B. Witzigman; and a former daughter-in-law, Jean Yesko.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
There are no calling hours.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 1, 2018, in St. Joseph Church, Sharon, with Rev. Henry Andrae, as celebrant.
Interment: Morefield Cemetery, Hermitage.
